On 4th November Ambitions launched the first in a series of 8 interactive workshops that are designed to get young people into work. Meeting at Krowji in Redruth, Ambitions and CSW Group will work with unemployed people aged 16-24 to help them develop new skills.
Focusing on CV writing, team building, money management, confidence boosting and communication skills the sessions will prepare the young people for a successful interview and the world of work.
Engagement and Support Adviser, Lea Thomas said: “We are looking to inspire young people into looking at the many careers available within Cornwall, and to support them on their next steps into employment, education or training.
“We have had a great response from local employers who are looking to provide us with a either a demonstration or hands on activities to offer an insight of what they do on a day-to-day basis and how they got into the industry. We have also been offered mentoring, and work experience opportunities which has been wonderful!
“Charities within the local community are also keen to get involved, by enabling young people the opportunity to volunteer and to gain a variety of skills and experience.”

Monday sessions – November 11th, 18th, 25th and December 2nd, 9th, 16th
